Accurate positioning

Impulse pulses provide high positioning accuracy, using ultra-wideband radio communications to precisely locate indoors and underground, whereas GPS positioning systems can only operate within the visual range of GPS positioning satellites. Unlike GPS, which provides an absolute geographic location, the ultrashort pulse locator can give a relative location with an accuracy of up to 10 cm.


Large system capacity

Many tags can work simultaneously in 1S, and the capacity is high. Indoor UWB positioning trackers use bandwidths above 1 GHz and even up to several GHz, then the duration of each UWB signal sent is very short. The increase in bandwidth makes the increase in channel capacity far greater than the effect of rising signal power, and this is precisely the theoretical mechanism for proposing ultra-wideband technology.


High multipath resolution

Indoor UWB positioning tracker has high resolution due to its very high operating frequency and very low duty cycle. The multipath signals of narrow pulses are not easily overlapped in time, and it is easy to separate the multipath components, so the energy of the transmitted signal can be fully utilized. Experiments have shown that for a multipath environment where the multipath fading of conventional radio signals is 10-30 dB deep, the fading of UWB signals is at most less than 5 dB.


Good concealment

Because the indoor UWB positioning tracker has a very wide spectrum and a very low energy density, the information transmission is safe. On the other hand, because of the low energy density, the indoor UWB positioning tracker has very low interference with other devices.


High anti-interference capability

The spread spectrum processing gains of the indoor UWB positioning tracker mainly depend on the duty cycle of pulses and the number of pulses used to send each bit. Generally speaking, the UWE anti-interference processing gain is over 50dB.


Low power consumption

Indoor UWB positioning tracker uses intermittent pulses to send data, the pulse duration is very short, generally between 0.20ns-1.5ns, with a very low duty factor, the system power consumption can be very low, in high-speed communication system power consumption is only a few hundred μW - tens of mW. It is about 1/20th of the power required by Bluetooth devices. Therefore, the battery life of an indoor UWB positioning tracker has a great advantage compared with traditional wireless devices.


Wireless Synchronization

Wireless synchronization means that each indoor UWB positioning tracker base station continuously exchanges its clock information with other base stations to eventually achieve and maintain global time coordination. The higher the time accuracy, the smaller the time error between two base stations, and the higher the degree of time synchronization between them. The advantage of the wireless synchronization method is that no wired connection is required between base stations, so indoor UWB positioning trackers are less difficult and less costly to deploy.
